BMX Special magazine was founded at the end of 1982 by Aris Donzelli with the help of Ekkehardt Teichreber. It was published by the specialist magazine publisher "Manfred Mayer" in Singen and was introduced as a supplement to the magazine "Motocross Enduro". Aris managed the magazine until 1983, when Rolf D. Meißner took over as editor-in-chief. After 16 issues, three of which were supplements, BMX Special was discontinued in 1984.
