Freedombmx (seit 1993)
Freedom BMX magazine was founded in 1993 by Ralf Maier, Klaus Dyba and Kay Clauberg. The first eight issues were self-published, after which the magazine moved to Hamburg-based B&D Verlag in 1996, where it remained until the publisher's insolvency in 2010. It was then published by the English publisher Factory Media, which discontinued the print edition in 2015. Since then, Freedom BMX has only existed as a website and in the form of irregularly published special editions. Curiously, the brand rights are now back with Wolfgang Block, the founder of B&D Verlag, who publishes the website under his new publishing house "Pulse Publishing". The only remaining permanent employee is Markus Wilke, who joined the magazine as a freelance editor in 1996.
